Meet Our Animals

Max

Max

Max is a bearded dragon of the modern age. When he’s not showing off to the kids, he’s sneaking off to a computer to check his email or update his MySpace profile and chatting it up with kids and other reptiles around the globe.

Statistics:

Species: Bearded Dragon
Animal Type: Onmivore

Max is from Australia, so he likes hot, dry climates. He is also an omnivore. Which is just a fancy way of saying he likes to eat meat and vegetables. He loves crickets, crunchy beetles and worms, but he also enjoys his fruits and vegetables. His favorite treat is apples!

The Geckos

The Geckos

Voted coolest animal at HOSC July 9, 2007, these little nocturnal reptiles like to think they run the place, though their companions might disagree. Max in particular.

Statistics:

Species: Leopard Gecko
Animal Type: Carnivore

These lovable Leopard Geckos originate from Pakistan and India, so, like Max, they like hot, dry climates. These guys are like Max in more ways than one. They’re terrestrial and carnivores (meat eaters). These guys love crunchy beetles, worms and crickets to be precise. One of the coolest things about these guys is how they store extra water and fat in their tails. They also shed their skins, which they then eat for an extra boost of calcium.
